NFTs are new to me. How do I get started and into ownership of Octotoke Reef NFTs?

🤔 What is an NFT?
“NFTs are tokens that we can use to represent ownership of unique items. They let us tokenise things like art, collectibles, even real estate. They can only have one official owner at a time and they’re secured by the Ethereum blockchain – no one can modify the record of ownership or copy/paste a new NFT into existence.
NFT stands for non-fungible token. Non-fungible is an economic term that you could use to describe things like your furniture, a song file, or your computer. These things are not interchangeable for other items because they have unique properties.
Fungible items, on the other hand, can be exchanged because their value defines them rather than their unique properties. For example, ETH or dollars are fungible because 1 ETH / $1 USD is exchangeable for another 1 ETH / $1 USD."

How can I buy an Octotokes Reef NFT?
First, you’ll need a crypto wallet. You have many choices and should research which one you want to use. A commonly recommended wallet is MetaMask: MetaMask’s Getting Started guide.
Octotokes Reef NFTs live on the Ethereum blockchain (learn about Ethereum: ethereum.org/en/). To purchase our NFT you’ll need currency in the form of Ether – ETH (learn about Ether: ethereum.org/en/eth/).
Cost to mint an Octotokes Reef NFT: 0.03 ETH
Follow your wallet’s instructions to add enough ETH to cover the NFT cost, plus enough to cover the network fee (called ‘gas’). You’ll connect your wallet to the minting website and then follow the instructions to complete the minting process!

– Your mental health is the priority. As amazing and energizing as it is to be participating in these spaces, it can also be equally draining. Take breaks. Reach out to people who can help you. Spend time outside. Do a physical activity. Practice mindfulness. 🔑 Balance is key.
